Sarah Dallas was one of the core designers in Rowan's re-vitalization of hand knitting over the past several decades. Her first design for Rowan appeared in Book 4.  As the founder and senior tutor of the Fashion Knitwear course at the Royal College of Arts, Sarah continues to inspire the next generation of knitters.  in her own words "color gets her creative juices flowing"  which is clearly reflected in this very early design using a paint box pallet of primary shades from Rowan's lightweight dk wool range.   The design was published in an leaflet meant to encourage sales of the yarn, and Rowan kitted the sweater as one of their first yarn packs.  The shades are still as cheerful and vibrant together today as they were in the mid 1980's when Sarah selected them
One of the simplest multi color designs to knit, the oversized pullover uses a combination of intarsia and fair isle techniques to create fun blocks of color.  The design comes in one size with a finished bust/chest measurement of 44.5 inches.  Here we offer an original Rowan yarn pack with yarns that have been discontinued for almost two decades.   The pattern calls for a tension of 28 stitches and 28 rows to 4 inches (10 cm) on US 5 (3.75 mm) needles.

In total the kit contains an original pattern, shade card, and all the vintage lightweight DK you need to create the pullover:  Shades included are Black, Lime Green, Orange, Yellow, Red, Purple, Green, Pink, and Blue.
Multiple skeins have matching lots.
As with all of our RareRowan kits, this pack has been carefully stored in a non-smoking home, and these vintage yarns and fabric will arrive to you in pristine condition.
