Over the past few years, Martin Storey has become one of our favorite Rowan designers.  The creative mind behind the Rowan Classics line, Martin has been a frequent contributor to the Rowan Magazines for over a decade.  From

published in 2006 we are pleased to present the Shetland Vest, a wonderful traditional Fairisle inspired waistcoat with a cable tie detail at the back for a modern look.  Knit in long discontinued Rowan Yarn Classic Baby Alpaca DK.  The vest features simple shaping, and a V-neckline.  The pattern can be made in any of 6 sizes -- XS to fit a chest/bust of 32 inches all the way to XXL to fit a chest/bust of 42 inches.  The pattern specifies a
gauge
of 25 stitches and 29 rows to 4 inches (10 cm) on US 6 (4 mm) needles.  The vest will work up quickly and become an instant classic.

Kit Contents
:  The kit comes with a copy of the pattern and all the Baby Alpaca DK you require to knit the largest size -- 14 balls in total with the following shades:  Jacob (205), Southdown (208), Blossom (200), and Lincoln (209).  You will also need 6 buttons which are not included.
As with all of our RareRowan kits, this pack has been carefully stored in a non-smoking home, and these kits will arrive to you in pristine condition, ready for knitting. We stock our kits in two locations and only ship on weekends from Katy, Texas.
