Kim Hargreaves was Rowan's in-house designer for years.  "Kensington Gardens" is a classic example of Kim's floral designs, creating a very feminine, graceful sweater. We are offering an original Rowan yarn pack to complete the design in Kim's original colors.  The cardigan is knit using the motif intarsia technique where the background color is carried across the row and each motif is knit from a mini-hank of yarn.  The design features simple shaping, inset drop shoulder sleeves, and a crew neck.  The pullover can be made in any of three sizes -- Small with a finished chest/bust measurement of 43 inches, Medium with a finished chest/bust measurement of 45 inches, or Large with a finished chest/bust measurement of 47 inches.  The colors are absolutely beautiful together and sing against the black background.  Knit in very soft 4 ply botany wool, this will be a wardrobe classic for many years.   The pattern calls for a tension of 34 stitches and 41 rows to 4 inches (10 cm) on US 2 (2.75 mm) needles..

Original Rowan 4 ply botany has been discontinued for over a decade.  Collecting all the original shades required can be quite difficult as several only came on cone.
Kit Contents:  The kit contains a copy of the pattern and all the original Rowan 4 ply botany you need to complete the design in Kim's original shades:  Black, Fern, Dark Blue, Tan, Khaki, Dark Peach, Kingfisher, Rose Pink, Mauve, Gold, Plum, and Mustard.  As this was an original Rowan yarn pack dye lots match when multiple balls are required.  Sufficient yarn to make any of the three sizes.
As with all of our RareRowan kits, this pack has been carefully stored in a non-smoking home, and these vintage yarns and fabric will arrive to you in pristine condition.
