    Description

Nice cup and saucer set here in the Sierra Depression Glass pattern made by Jeannette Glass Company between 1931 and 1933. The pinwheel design of this pattern give it a modern, geometric look. I like the way they stayed true to the angled edge by making the tops of the design on the cups at an angle. The cup is about 4 and 1/4 inches across (including the handle) and about 2 and 1/4 inches deep. The saucer is about 5 and 1/2 inches across with an interior cup ring. Both cup and saucer are in very good condition.
Jeannette Glass Co started as Jeannette Bottle Works in 1887 in Jeannette, PA, making....bottles! Within a few years they moved into making other glass items such as auto headlamp parts, jars and other household items so in 1889, the company changed their name to Jeannette Glass to more accurately reflect their business. By 1924, they were principally making glassware for the house/dinner table. They made some of the most beautiful patterns from the Depression Era and managed to stay in business until 1983.
