Brandon Mably joined the Kaffe Fassett Studio in 1991 and quickly developed an international reputation for graphic, playful designs brimming with color. "Rice Paper" was first published in Rowan Knitting Magazine 23 in the Spring of 1998. Classic Mably, this sweater combines a fun graphic design with interposed cool and warm colors to create a wonderful summer cardigan. Brandon blends light neutrals with terra cotta, duck egg blue, rose, and sage greens to create this beach inspired summer colorway. Knit in Rowan Cotton Glace and Fine Cotton Chenille, the sweater is knit from a chart using the intarsia and fair isle techniques and features modified drop shoulder sleeves and simple ribbed borders. The design is rated for experienced knitters and is suitable for anyone who is familiar with intarsia knitting. The pattern can be made in any of three sizes -- small with a finished bust measurement of 41.5 inches, medium with a finished bust measurement of 43.5 inches, and large with a finished bust measurement of 45.5 inches. Our kit contains all the yarn you require to complete the sweater in Brandon's original colors.  Modeled on a woman we think this would make a great man's vest or pullover if you altered the shape.  Happy to help you create a chart for that.  The patterns calls for a tension of 23 stitches and 32 rows to 4 inches (10 cm) on US 3 (3.75mm) needles.

Kit Contents:  The kit contains a copy of the pattern plus all the yarn you require to finish the cardigan in any of the three sizes:  Fine Cotton Chenille in parched 415, ecru 414, marsh 416, and catkin 411; cotton glace in corn 791, oyster 730, candy floss 747, ecru 725, pear 780, bloom 784, hazel 788, terracotta 786, and mint 748; rowan 4 ply cotton in opaque 112, and rush 111.  You will require 5 buttons which are not included.
As with all of our RareRowan kits, this pack has been carefully stored in a non-smoking home, and these vintage yarns and fabric will arrive to you in pristine condition.
