    Description

    Rare antique Boehm Porcelain Basset Hound #127 issued in 1957 and retired in 1961. There were 310 of the glazed decorated figures of which this is one. There were also 100 bisque decorated versions made.
    Just look into those big round eyes and your heart just melts for this lovable companion. Those big floppy ears are adorable. The expression on his face is priceless and non-judgmental - “You didn’t really just do that did you? “ he seems to be expressing. Note the incredible details on this sculpture like the toenails! I believe this figure was sculpted from Mr. Boehm’s own basset hound.
    The hound dog measures approximately 5 3/4” tall by 8” long and 4” deep. The opening price was .50 in 1957 and .00 when retired in 1961.
    In the mid to late 1970’s Boehm published fact sheets and reported the glazed decorated version reached 0 at auction.
