Offered for sale is abeautiful
antique GREEN opalescent glass bowl made by Jefferson Glass. This is a whimsey version. When it was made, it was modified from the usual round bowl shape by being pulled into a triangle, with three lobes raised and pulled up at the edges. The pattern is called Many Loops, for reasons that will quickly become obvious. It's also known as Jefferson's pattern #247, and has raised lines that resemble the lines made with a spirograph toy. There are some zigzag lines as well. The lines are embossed on the outer surface of the glass; the inside surface is smooth. The bowl itself is made of green glass, with a thin band of pale green opalescence at the outer edge. The Many Loops pattern was introduced in 1907.
This bowl measures appx. 8 inches (20.3cm) in diameter, and stands appx. 2 1/2 inches (6.3cm) tall to the highest point. It is shown with a U.S. quarter in the second picture, to give an accurate impression of the size at a glance. This is a magnificent antique opalescent bowl for your collection!
The bowl is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, scratches, or repairs.
