Akai 1710 - 4-track reel to reel tape recorder 1710 Vintage Working. We tested this Akai 1710 - cleaned the tape heads. The unit does rewind and does fast forward. It does play tapes when handle is turned to the "Record" position. There is one reel holder and another holder that was made which works.There is some cracking from
the speakers but does play however I would recommend using external speakers plugged into the back of unit for better sound. We did not test the record function of this unit - it does however play tapes. Of course it is recommended to have this unit tuned up by a professional at some time but for now it does play tapes as it should. There is no cover - will include two tapes and one empty reel.
